my way or the highway

I'm getting rather bored at my part time job and I'm thinking of finding a full time one now. The extra dough will always come in handy as well. But with the job market as bad as it is, I have to actually be thankful that I even have a job. RIght now, I think the important thing is to get my act together and figure out my resume. It's in bad need of a update and spruce-up. Resumes are just about the worst thing ever. I hate to feel as if I'm selling myself, which inevitably I do, and I always give up halfway.

I realise that I haven't been posting much lately. It's the non-action in my life that's getting me down too. But I'm going down to Ikea today to get some stuff for me mom and maybe get something to cheer my room up as well. It's looking quite boring. I'm going to be watching The Italian Job as well, so it looks like a "fun-filled day" ahead.

Plath opening Oct 17
Oh, there's going to be a new movie out on Sylvia Plath, and guess who's acting her? Gwyneth Paltrow. uurrggghhh! I have nothing against her principally but she just doesn't look like a Plath, you know what I mean? The vibes are all wrong! I'm not sure if I will watch the show at all; I wouldn't want the movie to ruin my impression and understanding of Plath. Just imagine: All that hard work studying her poems wasted just because now I will have Paltrow's face plastered all over it!

Rows of houses

all bearing down on me.
I can feel their blue hands touching me
All these things into position
All these things we'll one day swallow whole
And fade out again and fade out.

Hindsight is always 20/20

It's hard for me to have a clear mind about a particular situation, until the situation has a denouement or is somehow resolved and I'm able to have a good overview about the matter at hand.

I tend to overreact alot and get paranoid about things. Someone told me that the stress I'm currently going through is precariously living through my paranoia. It's a vicious cycle, and I do intend to break through it.

Until then....

P.S: It's a shame about Johnny Cash though. His version of "Hurt" was really good.

I dreamt last night that Radiohead was performing in Singapore, and it was nothing short of absolutely fabulous. I was jumping, cheering, dancing all the time.

Then, I woke up to "There, There", disoriented but realising that Radiohead's latest album has been playing on repeat from last night. The Disappointment!

If you want to check out a recent concert that actually happened in the real world however, taz is the man to go to.

*edit
This site is hosting the Radiohead concert from Aug 13 at MA. Check it out. (thanks David!)
