It stands for everything that's been lost
Monday, June 30, 2003
It's nice to be alone by yourself sometimes, walking aimlessly through the malls. It mustn't be too busy though--it's not half as fun if you have to elbow your way through hordes of people--a weekday afternoon will be good. You walk with your hands in the pockets, just roaming around. It's almost therapeutic in a weird kind of way--and I'm not talking about retail therapy. This is different. I'm talking about walking around, absorbing whatever you see or happening around you. Time doesn't mean anything at all here--you can quit, press the "escape" button anytime--just get on the escalator and walk out of the building.

Everyone should spend about 1 or 2 hours to this experience once in a while. I feel almost like a stranger--not a out-of-towner-- but someone that doesn't belong to the urban environment at all. Yet I don't feel overwhelmed by it in any way. It's almost like an acknowledgement or a recognition of the urban world but yet choosing to step out of it for a while. It's a different perspective somehow.

the Part-Time Blogger

I think I am fast becoming one. I do like blogging but it's hard when one gets home dog tired almost every day. When this happens previously, I would just maybe stick a couple of pictures I've taken during the week and that's it. But now, I'm too damn lazy to lug my camera around! That's really sad, cos that camera cost me a bomb! I'm really going to have to either grit my teeth and lug it around anyway, or get a bigger bag. I've got my eye on backpacks from maybe North Face or something. But they might be a little too big for everyday use. I am using a messenger bag right now and it might be time for a change. I like it and everything but I do need more space for books/ cds/ stuff...

Where was I? Yes, I was gripping about how I have nothing to blog about... oh, how I digress! :0

Harry Potter can kiss my arse!

You would not believe the mayhem of the Fifth Potter book unless you are standing behind a cashier counter with hordes, and I do mean hordes of people throwing money in your face. Because of an extremely strict embargo date/time, no one is to take the goddamn books out of their boxes till 7:01 in the morning. (Elsewhere in the world, it's 12:01 for UK, 9:01 for Australia etc...) There are bookstores that actually open an hour before the stipulated time (I'm glad my current place of employ is not mad like that) just to drum up the hype. That's 6 in the bloody morning for you!! Who the hell goes downtown at 6 in the morning??! Are there even buses/trains that start that goddamn early!

Madness! Madness, I tell you. Harry Potter drives people totally potty..

Quiz!
This is quite sad actually.

Emo
You are Emo!

You are very sensitive to everything and often find
yourself depressed or brooding. You get
attached to people easily and find it hard to
let go. However, you are creative and
articulate and can express your thoughts easily
and clearly. You are empathetic to people in
distress and often find yourself driven to help
them. Try not to focus solely on whats wrong
with the world, and try to notice the positive
aspects, too. Oh, and please put the X-acto
down.

I figured this week's Friday Five seems worth the trouble breaking my current non-activity in blogging:

1. What's one thing you've always wanted to do, but never have?
Travel the world

2. When someone asks your opinion about a new haircut/outfit/etc, are you always honest?
Pretty much, and if it's really bad, and you say so, the person may just take it as a joke. I'm serious! It has happened to me!

3. Have you ever found out something about a friend and then wished you hadn't? What happened?
Erm. I should think so, but nothing too mindblowing that I'd remember it right now.

4. If you could live in any fictional world (from a book/movie/game/etc.) which would it be and why?
I like this question: (This is subject to change). It's a toss-up between the Sims (with the cheat codes please!) and a random Coupland-esque world, I think.

5. What's one talent/skill you don't have but always wanted?
To be able to lie more convincingly... I'm a bad liar sometimes. And also, if this counts: a better memory. Mine is like a sieve.

Another possible reason to resume blogging: Blogger has updated my interface and it looks pretty good. If only I can do the same (updating/upgrading) my goddamn life then maybe it'll be more bloggable.

My apologies for not posting for a long while. There seems to be a dry spell in blog-worthy news lately. I might be taking a hiatus from all this. Hopefully, my life will be bloggable again in the near future. Until then, bear with me! :0

You are Persephone-
You are Persephone, from "The Matrix." Tough
cookie, you are, yet there are strains of sadness and desire that lie beneath
you. --of course, you wouldn't want anyone to know. You're too busy putting up a facade.

It's been pretty much a hectic week for me. Still feel rather tired and everything. I am starting to believe that I'm really getting older and my body will not take as much nonsense from me as before. My friend and I are contemplating picking up yoga, just to feel more "in-touch" with our bodies. Any suggestions?
